Magalie Lépine-Blondeau stars in the miniseries Les Yeux fermés (Eyes Shut)
Tuesday, April 5, 2022 - Magalie Lépine-Blondeau stars in Les Yeux fermés (Eyes Shut), a psychological thriller written by Anita Rowan, directed by Jeanne Leblanc, and produced by Fabienne Larouche and Michel Trudeau for Aetios Productions. Filming on the six 60-minute episodes will begin in May, and the series will be available online on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA in 2022-2023.
The cast, still under development, includes, in addition to Magalie Lépine-Blondeau, Anie Pascale, Benoit McGinnis, Isabelle Guérard, Patrice Dubois, Larissa Corriveau, Frédéric Pierre, Charlotte Aubin, Louis-Philippe Dandenault, Marc Beaupré, Annick Bergeron, Muriel Dutil, and the young Léokim Beaumier-Lépine, Laurence Ménard, and Arnaud Vachon.
The plot of this fiction, set between 1994 and the present day, is as follows:
September 21, 1994. After dinner, 15-year-old Simon Dénommé (Léokim Beaumier-Lépine) goes to the convenience store on his bike. He never returns home. The next day, his body is fished out of the river.
27 years later, 38-year-old Élise (Magalie Lépine-Blondeau) is still obsessed with the death of her brother. This disappearance turned her life upside down, and many of her questions remain unanswered. The more Élise digs, the thicker the fog surrounding the circumstances of Simon's disappearance becomes. What really happened? In her quest for the truth, she enlists the help of several witnesses from the past, including a former pastoral worker (Benoit McGinnis) who knew Simon well. What she discovers will forever change her perception of events.
Les Yeux fermés (Eyes Shut) offers numerous trips back to the past. Through characters who are ever more complex than they first appear, this search also plunges us into the distress and vertigo of the transition to adulthood.
