The Stallion-Snake: at the heart of a clash of values
Montreal, January 25th, 2017 - Author Danielle Trottier once again takes us into a secret world, that of male-stripper bars, with THE STALLION-SNAKE. Directed by Sylvain Archambault and produced by Fabienne Larouche and Michel Trudeau of Aetios Productions, THE STALLION-SNAKE, scheduled for release in 2017-2018, is the new original drama series for ICI Tou.tv EXTRA.
Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, Sophie Prégent, Élise Guilbault, Daniel Parent, Louise Portal, Paul Savoie, Catherine St-Laurent, and Marie Tifo are part of the dazzling cast, which also includes Alexandre Landry, Claude Bégin, Pier-Olivier Paquet, Francisco Rendez, and Randy Simons as the Stallion-Snake dancers. The Stallion-Snake is a strip club whose continued success is thanks to the hard work and vigilance of its owner, Dorice McQuaid (Sophie Prégent), and its manager, David Gauthier (Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge). A legendary and unique venue in the heart of Montreal, The Stallion-Snake has helped give the city its reputation as a privileged haven of freedom, openness, celebration, and pleasure, a reputation never challenged by the then mayor, Bernard Saint-Pierre (Paul Savoie).
Following in his father's footsteps, Laurent Saint-Pierre (Daniel Parent) was recently elected mayor. This father belongs to another generation. For him, the time when sex-oriented establishments proliferated downtown is over. Montreal must be welcoming to visitors of all ages. The Stallion-Snake is destined to experience turbulent times under his leadership. This clash of values surrounding the club promises to be all the more tense given that Bernard Saint-Pierre has been secretly having an affair for years with Odile (Louise Portal), David Gauthier's mother. David is his illegitimate son and therefore Laurent's half-brother, who is well aware of it. As our story begins, Bernard is on the verge of succumbing to cancer and insists on seeing David.
Dorice also has to manage her family life. She has lived for years with Dominique (Élise Guilbault), a well-known and respected feminist who wants to slow down and withdraw from public life. They have raised a daughter together, Simone (Catherine St-Laurent), conceived with the help of David, who has actively played the role of father to her. A recent graduate, Simone returns to the city and wants to make her mark. As the situation complicates matters for the Stallion-Snake, Dorice and David must be extra vigilant to ensure that their dancers—Pete (Francisco Randez), Franck (Claude Bégin), Mustang (Sacha Charles), Billy (Pier-Olivier Paquet), Angel (Randy Simons), and Julien (Alexandre Landry), who is taking his first steps in the profession—avoid getting into embarrassing situations that could harm the establishment.
The Stallion-Snake and those who gravitate around him live on the fringes. But who knows where they are? Many tragedies could ensue.
