Reasonable Doubt - an impressive cast around Julie Perreault
Montreal, Monday, May 10, 2021 - Julie Perreault plays a brilliant criminologist recruited to work with a new police squad dedicated to sex crimes in the drama series Reasonable Doubt, which will begin filming on May 17 for a premiere broadcast on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA during the 2021-2022 season.
Julie Perreault is joined by an impressive cast that includes Marc-André Grondin, Kathleen Fortin, Nadia Essadiqi - La Bronze, Charli Arcouette, Bruno Marcil, David Boutin, Karelle Tremblay, Eve Landry, Benoît McGinnis, Nour Belkhira, and Julie Vincent.
An original idea by Fabienne Larouche, Reasonable Doubt is written by Danielle Danserau and directed by Claude Desrosiers. The series is produced by Fabienne Larouche and Michel Trudeau for Aetios Productions.
Let's review the basics of the story:
After a sabbatical year that allowed her to complete studies on sexual deviance, experienced police officer Alice Martin (Julie Perreault) joins the Sexual Crimes Investigation Group (GICCS), a pilot project initiated by Police Chief Pascal Alario (David Boutin). Along with her colleagues Lucie Robert (Kathleen Fortin), Abigaëlle Kasmi (Nadia Essadiqi), and Jo Moreno (Charli Arcouette), Alice will deploy new investigative techniques. Frédéric Masson (Marc-André Grondin), from Major Crimes, the only man in the group, is imposed on Alice and her colleagues.
At the GICCS, everything is atypical of the police environment: the working methods, the schedules, the travel, the latitude in approaching victims, suspects, and witnesses. Alice and her colleagues inherit tragic and contentious cases. Their work is scrutinized by the media. Chief Alario is betting that the excellence demonstrated by his Dream Team will improve the public image of the police force, whose track record in dealing with sex crimes is flawed.
